This Privacy Policy describes how jimothy_io (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and processes information when you use the mobile application jMeditations (the “App”). If you have questions or wish to exercise your privacy rights, contact us at iojimothy@gmail.com.

2. Summary

• We use Firebase Auth for account login, Cloud Firestore to store your meditation data, Firebase Crashlytics for crash diagnostics, and Google AdMob for advertising.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• You can request access or deletion of your data by emailing us.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Account & authentication data (Firebase Auth)

When you create or sign in to an account, we process data such as your email address, display name (if provided), a unique user ID, and authentication tokens required to verify your session.

3.2 App content you provide (Cloud Firestore)

The App stores your meditation tracking data in Cloud Firestore, such as session registrations, dates, counts, and preferences needed to operate the App’s features. The exact structure depends on your usage and App features.

3.3 Crash & diagnostic data (Firebase Crashlytics)

To improve stability and performance, Crashlytics collects crash logs and diagnostic data (e.g., device model, OS version, app version, timestamp, and stack traces). This helps us identify and fix issues.

3.4 Advertising & identifiers (Google AdMob)

The App displays ads via Google AdMob, which may collect device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID), general device information, and in-app event data to show and measure ads. You may be able to reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings.

3.5 Device & log information

Like many mobile apps, we may automatically receive basic technical information (e.g., IP address, device/OS info, app version, and usage logs) for security, fraud prevention, and diagnostics.

No precise location: jMeditations does not collect precise GPS location.

4. How we use information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the App (including account login and storage of your meditation records).
• Monitor and troubleshoot crashes and performance problems.
• Show advertising and measure its effectiveness.
• Protect the App and users (fraud prevention, security, abuse detection).
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

5. How we share information

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We share data with service providers who help us run the App (e.g., Google/Firebase for auth, storage, crash reporting, and ads), subject to their terms and privacy policies.
• We may share information to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer (e.g., merger or acquisition).

jMeditations integrates the following services. Their collection and use of information are governed by their own terms and privacy policies:

7. Data retention

We retain your account and meditation data for as long as you maintain an account or as needed to operate the App. Crash and advertising data may be retained by Google/Firebase under their policies. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymize associated personal data within a reasonable period, subject to legal obligations.

8. Your rights & choices

• Access, correction, deletion: You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing iojimothy@gmail.com.
• Ad preferences: You can reset or limit the Android Advertising ID and adjust ad personalization in your device settings.
• Consent & objections: Depending on your location, you may have the right to withdraw consent or object to certain processing (e.g., personalised ads).
• Portability: Where applicable, you can request a copy of data you have provided.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (including those provided by Firebase/Google) designed to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

11. International data transfers

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own (for example, where Google or Firebase operates data centers). By using the App, you consent to such transfers.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Effective date” above and, where required, notify you in the App. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective signifies your acceptance.
